Chairman & President
Fay is a founding member of the Fight Cancer Foundation (formally Bone Marrow Donor Institute) and has held the position of Secretary from 1990 – 1992 and 2001 to June 2009, when she was appointed Deputy Chairman. Fay is the chairman of the Red Ball committee. Fay was Executive Director of the BMDI from 1992 until her retirement in 2001. Fay previously held positions of Associate Director, Company Secretary and Administration Manager of several private and public companies.
Deputy Chairman & Vice President
Tony gained extensive experience in healthcare and technology at Accenture (previously Andersen Consulting) as the Managing Partner for the healthcare practice in the Asia Pacific Region, and then overseeing Accenture Technology Ventures’ operations in Australia and Accenture’s Corporate Development in Australia and New Zealand. Tony is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, CPA and AIM.
Director/Honorary Treasurer BMDI Cord Blood Bank
John has been a Board Member and Honorary Treasurer of the Bone Marrow Donor Institute since 1992, in 2003 he was appointed to the BMDI Cord Blood Bank Management Committee and is now the Chairman. John also chaired the BMDI Audit Committee from 2005 – 2009. John became Chairman in May 2009. He is a Chartered Accountant and Certified Financial Planner.
David joined the board of the Bone Marrow Donor Institute in 1999 and was appointed Company Secretary in June 2009. David became involved with BMDI after his son received a bone marrow transplant in 1996. David has special responsibility for the support groups and provided project management advice for the construction of BMDI Rotary House. David is a commercial Architect.
Eric has been a Board Member of the Bone Marrow Donor Institute since 1997 and Managing Director since 2006. Eric has 30 years experience in the banking and finance industry with extensive experience in human resource management, sales management and project management. Eric is also a member of the BMDI Cord Blood Bank Management Committee, Cord Blood National Management Committee and Australian Bone Marrow Donor Registry Donor Centre Advisory Committee.
Director, Marketing and Business Development
Sophia has been a Board member of the Bone Marrow Donor Institute since 1991. Sophia is the Chairman of the Fight Cancer Foundation and BMDI Business Development Committee. Sophia has a 35 year career in advertising, marketing and PR and held positions of General Manager and Director of several private and public companies. She was also on the Committee of the AFA Business Forum of Victoria. Sophia has been actively involved with all the major fundraising events. Sophia was appointed to the position of Director, Marketing and Business Development for the Fight Cancer Foundation in April 2007.
Kylie is a management consultant, specialising in the non-profit and education sectors. She provides strategic, stakeholder management and brand advice to a range of organisations. She is currently working with Teach For Australia, a social venture seeking to address educational disadvantage in Australia. Her previous roles include Director, Marketing and Business Development at Zoos Victoria and General Manager – Marketing at Melbourne Business School at the University of Melbourne. She holds an MBA from the University of Melbourne. Her previous board positions include the Adult and Community Further Education board and the Victorian Art Deco Society.
James was appointed Board member in August 2012, having joined the Development Board of FCF in 2008. James is the Business Development Executive – Healthcare for Spotless Group, where he has been employed for 15 years in a number management roles, including State Manager positions in Victoria and Tasmania. James is a Williamson Fellow and is also the Chair of the Williamstown Community and Education Centre.
John was appointed a Board Member in 2008, but has a long association with BMDI, supporting its activities over the years. John is a past National Board Director of the Advertising Federation of Australia and Chairman of the AFA Business Forum in Victoria. John is the Managing Partner of Catalyst International who provide creative services to the Fight Cancer Foundation Group.
Leonie is a management consultant specialising in technology commercialisation and new business start-ups in the technology sector. Leonie underwent a Bone Marrow Transplant in 1989 for CML. After recuperating, Leonie joined the Bone Marrow Donor Institute board and was one of the early members and Honorary Secretary of the BMDI Board of Management from 1992 to 1995. At this time Leonie also convened the Leukaemia Family Support Group and served on the Ethics Review Committee. After relocating overseas, Leonie has returned to Australia and is looking forward to contributing to the Fight Cancer Group activities.
Tony was appointed to the Board in 2010 aand he is a Chartered Accountant.
He is an honorary financial adviser to the Royal Australasian College of
Surgeons, and honorary finance director of the Australian Print Workshop.
In addition Tony has a number of company board appointments.
