Team Spirit Award 2016 - Engadine High School
Engadine High School have hearts of champions – they put in the hard yards this Footy Colours Day season and well deserve this year’s Team Spirit Award.
This Footy Colours Day season was the first time Engadine High School joined the team after the school student leadership group got behind the event and backed it in for the win. The students raised money through donations, organised a round robin soccer competition and sold footy-themed food at lunch!
“The fact that Footy Colours Day helps kids with cancer get back to school is such an incredibly important message for us – especially as we have a couple of kids battling cancer,” said Tracey Miller, Teacher Librarian / SRC Co-ordinator.
“It was also very important to us that the event was inclusive. Not only in the variety of sports but that it also brought our entire school community together with staff, students and also our special needs students.”
Students and staff had a great day, raising more than $1,000 to help Australian kids with cancer continue their education – true team players who helped Footy Colours Day kick goals.
