Bursting on to the Footy Colours Day scene this year was one of Australia’s biggest mining operations, Mount Isa Mines in Queensland.
Mount Isa Mines got creative with their event, hosting a footy-themed bake-off and a table football competition to encourage staff to get involved and enjoy the day.
“On 29 September, a ‘Wear your footy shirt to work day’ was held at Glencore’s Mount Isa Copper Operations in preparation for the NRL and AFL grand finals weekend. The event was well supported and will definitely be repeated next year. Events included a ‘footy bake-off’ and a (table) football penalty shoot-out. Reflecting our international workforce, a wide variety of shirts were on show from around the world and across all the football codes - ranging from Fulham to Parramatta, Adelaide to Liverpool,” said David Matthews.
Congratulations to Mount Isa Mines on a spectacular debut performance! We look forward to seeing them kick a goal for kids with cancer again in 2018.
