Footy Colours Day celebrates Education Week
Last week the Footy Colours Day team joined forces with players from the Melbourne Football Club and Collingwood Football Club to help celebrate Education Week at The Royal Children’s Hospital!
Players and staff from the clubs began by answering questions from some very special patients about their careers in the sports industry and what their typical day looks like.
Coloured pens and pencils were then brought out as the players got to experience our education support program firsthand by designing their own jersey.
The highlight of the visit for everyone involved was seeing the smiles on the kid’s faces.
On average, kids with cancer miss out on more than six months of school while they undergo treatment and recovery. Fight Cancer Foundation’s education support programs help these kids to continue learning and provide a fun and welcome distraction.
Special thanks to Oskar Baker, Joel Smith, Bayley Fritsch, Celia McDonald and Caitlin Nobes from the Melbourne Football Club and Erica Fowler from Collingwood Football Club for joining us.
