The Kids behind Footy Colours Day
Even though 13 year old Imojen isn’t a Collingwood supporter, she was very excited to meet Collingwood star Adam Treloar and Fight Cancer Foundation’s very own Bo Bear at the Collingwood Football Club on Thursday 7 July.
The special meeting was set up as part of an exclusive Footy Colours Day photo shoot and despite the chilly Melbourne weather; Imojen along with her two younger brothers Jayden and Hunter had a ball.
Imojen, who is currently receiving treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia, played kick to kick with Adam and got lots of cuddles from Bo.
“It was an honour to meet Adam and to get photos with him,” said Imojen.
As part of the special meeting Imojen and her brothers also got to see where Collingwood train.
“It was so much fun to see all the trophies and the club rooms were awesome,” said Imojen.
On Friday 8 July the Footy Colours Day team organised a special meeting for passionate Western Sydney Wanderers FC fan and young learner from our Back on Track program at Westmead, Brendan, with talented midfielder and Footy Colours Day 2016 Official Ambassador, Shannon Cole.
12 year old Brendan and his family were invited to meet Shannon at the Western Sydney Wanderers training facility at Blacktown International Sportspark.
Shannon spent some time chatting with Brendan and his brother Luke before taking them down to the field to have a kick around.
Brendan and Luke had tons of fun learning a few new skills off Shannon and even a little a rain couldn’t deter the boys from taking to the field.
“It was amazing to meet Shannon,” said Brendan.
Don’t forget to register your Footy Colours Day event so that Fight Cancer Foundation can continue to support kids like Imojen and Brendan.
