Coach's Pick 2016 - Murringo Primary School
Our Coach’s Pick for 2016 proves that that everyone plays a role in the fight against cancer.
Murringo is a small community in central New South Wales with around 300 local residents. Murringo Primary School may only be a small school (with only 27 students!) but it’s a small school with a big heart. Their motto, “every child, every chance, everyday” perfectly captures the spirit and mission of Footy Colours Day, helping make sure kids with cancer can get back on track through education.
Cancer affects one in two people and has touched many families in the Murringo community. This inspired the school to support Footy Colours Day since 2012 and is a big event on the school calendar.
Murringo Primary School students love all things footy and wearing their teams’ colours and kicking a ball makes this fundraising event so much fun for them. The school invited a player from the local Young Football Club to host a footy clinic to teach the kids some extra balls skills. This talented bunch of students went on to win this year’s State School Touch Football!
A very deserving Coach’s Pick – congratulations Murringo Primary School on a fantastic achievement!
