Here are just a few of our wonderful volunteers who have donated their time in all sorts of ways over the last couple of years! Scroll through to see the various ways in which our volunteers contribute to the fight against cancer.
Lia and Friends
This lovely group of friends donate their time at various events throughout the year, including at MRC Foundation Race Day. Special mention to Lia, who is our go to 'Bo Bear'!
Mahasen joined our Head Office team for her year 10 student placement, helping out each team throughout the week and learning a little bit about how Fight Cancer Foundation works.
A supporter of Fight Cancer Foundation for more than 10 years, Peter Horwood has recently begun donating home-spun and knitted beanies for people living with cancer at our accommodation centres.
Alisha is a talented graphic designer who has decided to use her design skills to help people living with cancer. Alisha came on board about 18 months ago and has helped with logo and online collateral design.
Susan regularly visits our North Melbourne accommodation centre and spends time with kids currently staying there - reading with them, conducting science experiments or just chilling out, giving them a much-needed 'break' from cancer.
Barb is a volunteer extraordinaire! Having recently stepped down from managing our Geelong Recycle Shop after 17 years of service, Barb is now helping our Footy Colours Day Team with community engagement in Geelong and surrounding areas.
AON Insurance is one of the many companies who choose to support Fight Cancer Foundation by volunteering each year as a corporate group. Most corporate groups volunteer for a full day at our accommodation centre in North Melbourne, helping to keep the place spick-and-span for our guests.
Nicole volunteers as a member of our Hobart Events Committee, helping to organise a variety of events including The Little Red Luncheon, which raised just under $17,000 in 2017.
Betty and Cliff
Betty and Cliff are Fight Cancer Foundation's longest serving volunteers, having joined the team over 23 years ago! Over the years they have helped out in a variety of ways including volunteering at community events and at our recycle shops in Geelong and Drysdale.
Cecilia spent two years volunteering at Fight Cancer Foundation's Head Office - assisting the processing team with donations and returned mail, as well as helping out the Footy Colours Day team with a variety of tasks. Cecilia also volunteers at our major fundraising event Red Ball Melbourne.
Denise, Kristi and Lyn
Denise, Kristi and Lyn joined us on a chilly July evening to 'tin rattle' at a sports match at AAMI Park. Just a few hours out of their week meant Fight Cancer Foundation had an extra $500 to help people living with cancer.
