Security
Fight Cancer Foundation’s website is hosted by a third party via an outsourcing arrangement with experienced major suppliers of website hosting services that operate multiple Data Centres in Australia. These parties subscribe where possible to the Australian Privacy Principles.
Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. While all parties strive to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or receive from our online products or services. These activities are conducted at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we make our best effort to ensure its security.
Credit card information is amongst the most sensitive and important data that Fight Cancer Foundation collects. Our third party website hosting services operate secure servers to minimise the risk of unauthorised use of such information. Credit card information is encrypted in accordance with the highest standards. Please do not send credit card information through unsecured electronic mail.
Fight Cancer Foundation uses SSL technology – the industry standard for secure e-commerce – to encrypt your name, address, and credit card number when you order goods or services. SSL allows you to safely and securely enter sensitive information into your browser and be assured that your information will not be intercepted and decrypted while in transit.
You will know when transmitted data is safe by the appearance of a security notice when you enter a secure page. A secure icon will appear on your browser. For Netscape, this is a ‘key’ icon and for Microsoft Internet Explorer a ‘lock’ icon. Secure web pages can also be identified by their URL – they begin with ‘https://’, while standard pages begin with ‘http://’.
In the event of unauthorised use of your credit card, you must notify your credit card provider in accordance with its reporting rules and procedures.
Online Store
Because a third party shipper may handle our shipping of physical goods, they will only have access to your personal information such as name and address. Credit card information and record of your transaction are protected.
Our payment gateway provider is Paypal.
Third Party Software
The purchase of some products from Fight Cancer Foundation involves the use of third party software. If not already installed on your system, we will supply direct links to the third party website from where the software can be downloaded. We believe this software to be suitable for its intended purpose, however, you should read carefully the terms and conditions imposed by the third party on the use of their software.
What else you should know about privacy?

This is to ensure that others cannot access your personal information and correspondence if you share a computer with someone else or are using a computer in a public place like a library or Internet cafe. You, as an individual, are responsible for the security of and access to your own computer.
Please be aware that whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information over the Internet (for example – in discussion forums, via email or in chat sites) that this information can be collected and used by others.
